Royal Dutch Shell plc wins Daimler Supplier Award 2014 in the Partnership category

“This is the second time since 2004 that Shell has received this prestigious Daimler Supplier Award. In addition to the implementation of the Mercedes-Benz GPO (Genuine Parts Oils) products in China and the innovative capacity in supplying the plants with fuels and gas as well as the prominent euroShell card business in Germany also played a decisive role”, said Matthias Monien (Shell Key Account Manager Daimler in Germany).

The annual Daimler Supplier Award is designed to recognise outstanding performance. More than 450 top-level representatives of the most important Daimler suppliers attended this year’s gala at the Mercedes-Benz Center in Stuttgart. A total of 10 suppliers were recognised in different Daimler Supplier Award categories. In the area of International Procurement Services, Shell won the award in the Partnership category for outstanding performance in the joint implementation of a lubricants after-sales business in China.

Xuemei Wei, Buyer of Lubricants and Refinished Paint of Daimler Trucks and Buses (China) Ltd said: “Shell’s innovative lubricants strengthen our market position especially at our new automatic 9 shift gearbox (NAG3) with a positive effect on fuel economy. Besides that we appreciate and want to outline Shell’s outstanding performance with regards to fuels and natural gas for production and heating in the German production plants. Together we have just successfully launched the lubricants after sales business in China for Daimler Trucks and Buses.”
